    Brian has served in the United States Air Force and has over 20 years of experience within banking, special districts, community management and municipal finance. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Meritus Communities, which encompasses several service related businesses. As a former veteran, Brian founded these companies with a single mission in mind: To provide solutions for better communities.

    His responsibilities range from providing general oversight of day to day activities within the company, to actively participating in community events and engaging with area residents. His diverse and balanced experience has allowed him to effectively coordinate an office comprising of many experienced associates with varied professional disciplines and educational backgrounds.  Among the services provided, Brian has personally overseen the establishment of a number of communities, bond restructuring agreements, accounting and finance functions, district management, the resolution of compliance issues, municipal investment consultations, developments and construction of energy efficient, sustainable homes.

    As part of his civic duties, Brian founded a non-profit entity whose goal is to contribute to revitalizing urban communities by establishing new energy efficient homes and upgraded parks to rediscover some of the forgotten beauty within these communities. This is all done in an effort to assist low to moderate income individuals, families and veterans looking to relocate back into civilian living.

    Brian’s extensive experience and practical knowledge, has allowed Meritus Communities and its related service companies to become synonymous with quality, service and most importantly, community enhancement.

    Eric Davidson is the Chief Operating Officer for Meritus Communities.  Eric is responsible for the day to day operations of our companies and assists Brian in ensuring Meritus provides the highest levels of service to our clients. Eric served in the United States Army and has over 20 years of experience in construction and development services. . Eric was Vice President of Construction for American Land Lease Inc., a developer/owner of active 55+ communities in Florida, Arizona, Alabama, and multiple states in the Northeast.  This experience has given Eric valuable insight in a variety of areas including residential construction, manufactured home installation, capital infrastructure projects, site management and development, project management, estimating, building codes and regulations. This breadth of knowledge provides Meritus with a wide range of experience to call upon to further enhance the level of service we provide our clients. Eric also manages our corporate finances, non-for-profit company and IT infrastructure and services.

    Eric completed the Florida General Contactor Exam, has a Florida Certified Builder Contractor License, and a number of Pulte Certifications, including Foundations of Management, Advanced Leadership Certification and Building Quality Relationships Eric is continually working on expanding his knowledge and has been a member of the International Code Council since 2009 and is a recipient of the Golden Hammer Award from the Home Builders Association of Florida.

    Paul E. Skidmore is the Division President of Development Services for Meritus Communities.  He graduated from the University of South Florida in 1985 with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.   Mr. Skidmore has over 38 years of experience in the civil engineering field and has been a registered Florida Professional Engineer for the last 25 years.  His experience includes all aspects of project management, supervision and design in the preparation of preliminary site plans, final site designs, permitting, construction inspection and certification of completion for numerous type development projects throughout Florida.  Project types range from small commercial sites to large master planned development.  Other projects include drainage basin studies, municipal stormwater remedial actions, major roadway design, potable water, wastewater (including pump stations) and reclaimed water distribution/collection systems.  He is proficient in preparing construction specifications and bid documents as well as working with contractors to complete the projects in a timely manner.

    Mr. Skidmore’s project experience includes dealing with the public on understanding their concerns related to that specific project, performing visual inspection, obtaining the necessary survey data and developing a cost effective design solution.   Additional experience includes park, greenway and recreation facilities including golf course design, trailhead design, recreation centers, playgrounds, and associated infrastructure.

    Mr. Skidmore is a State Certified Building Contractor in Florida and a FDEP Stormwater Management Inspector for Florida. He has been a member of the American Society of Professional Engineers since 1985 and graduated from the Leadership Pasco, Class 2007 as well as the Florida Engineering Leadership Institute, Class 2008. He is also a registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina.
